The purpose of the Global Mala Project is to unite the global yoga
community from every continent in the world, forming a "mala around
the earth" through collective practices based upon the sacred cycle of
108.
On September 21st - 23rd, Fall Equinox and the United Nations
International Day of Peace, studios, teachers and organizations across
the globe will create fundraising celebrations, raising funds and
awareness for some of the most essential issues of our times.

108 is a sacred number in yogic traditions. We will use this number in
sequences during the event...Everyone who attends is requested to
complete 4 sets of 27 Surya Namaskars (Sun Salutations) modified.
Between sets we will have '108 form' Tai Chi, pranayama, meditation,
multi-cultural chanting and song, and water/bathroom breaks. Please do
not be intimidated by the amount of Surya Namaskars (Sun Salutations).
We will offer a modified set that will mostly be in childs pose.
In the spirit of the sacred 108; a donation of $10.80 is requested. These
funds will be allocated to WAR CHILD www.warchild.org/ and The
Church of the Nativity.
Styles of chanting and song that Blake Briscoe, Liz Seifried, and John
Tinger will be conducting will be centered on a multi-cultural level. The
intent of including ALL traditions will be the focus.
Come enjoy these peacemaking efforts in sacred space and support
the local and global community.
